Getting Started

[!abstract] What You'll Learn Create your account, confirm your email, log in, and find your way around.


Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Navigate to the Register page.
  2. Fill in the form:
Field Description
Username Alphanumeric characters, max 50
Nickname Display name shown to others, max 25
Email A valid email address for confirmation
Password 5-50 characters with uppercase, lowercase, digit, and special character
Confirm Password Must match the password above
  1. Complete the CAPTCHA verification.
  2. Click Create Account.

[!tip] Username vs Nickname Your username is used for login — no one else can see it. Your nickname is what other group members see.

On success, you'll land on the Registration Success page.


Step 2: Confirm Your Email

  1. Open the email inbox you registered with.
  2. Find the confirmation email from Unicorn Trails.
  3. Click the confirmation link.
  4. You'll see a success confirmation in your browser.

[!note] No email yet? Check your spam folder. If you still don't see it, you can resend from your account settings after logging in.


Step 3: Wait for Admin Confirmation

After email confirmation, an admin needs to approve your account:

  1. Try logging in.
  2. If you see a pending approval page, your account is awaiting admin confirmation.
  3. Wait for an admin to confirm your account — you'll be notified.

[!tip] Admin approval is required for security This ensures only verified users can access the platform. Admins will assign you to a group during confirmation.


Step 4: Log In

  1. Go to the Login page.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Check Remember Me to stay logged in across sessions.
  4. Click Log In.

You'll land on the Hub — your central navigation screen.


Step 5: Explore the Hub

The Hub shows cards for each feature your group has enabled:

  • Map — View and create trail markers on an interactive map.
  • Budget — Track income, expenses, and transfers.
  • Notes — Create notes with checklists.

[!note] Missing a feature? Your group admin controls which modules are enabled. If something's missing, ask your group admin.


Step 6: Visit Your Account Settings

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Navigate to Account Settings.

From here you can:

  • Change your avatar — Upload and crop a profile picture.
  • Update your nickname — Change your display name.
  • Switch language — Toggle between English and Czech.
  • Manage your email — View confirmation status or change your email.
  • Change your password — Update your login password.
  • Manage sessions — View active sessions and revoke any you don't recognize.
